In Berlin -Spandau: ATM blasted and gassettes stolen - police investigated
The police in Berlin-Spandau reported another case of ATM sprinkling on Friday. Unknown perpetrators had blown up an ATM at a bank branch in the Falkenhagener Feld district and stole the money boxes. Fortunately, no one was injured in the explosion. The perpetrators were able to flee undetected.
The police have taken over the investigation and is looking for the suspects. This is not the first incident of this kind in Berlin. A total of 92 ATMs were blown up between 2018 and early March 2023. Most explosions occurred in 2021 and 2022, each with 26 cases. With 33 of these explosions the perpetrators were successful.
The police are working on uncovering the background of the ATM blasts and taking the perpetrators into account. Such crimes not only cause considerable damage to property, but also endanger the safety of the population. It is important that the police and the banks take measures together to prevent such acts and deter the perpetrators.
Society should also be sensitized to report suspicious activities that may be connected to ATM blasts. With combined forces, we can help to contain these crimes and increase the security in our city.
It remains to be hoped that the investigation is successful and the perpetrators will be held responsible. This is the only way to convey the message that ATM blasts are not tolerated and consequences will not be tolerated. The security of the citizens should always come first, and the authorities concerned must take appropriate measures to prevent further incidents.
