IGBCE Lausitz: Review of the adoption of Ute Liebsch and a view of the future
igbce Lausitz: The future is still in the companies
In a remarkable conference in the Suhler clubhouse Schwarze Pumpe (Spremberg), the course was set for the future on Thursday, July 4, 2024 and the long-time IGBCE district manager Ute Liebsch was said goodbye. With 120 confidants, local group members and guests, the event was well attended and of great importance.
With a view to the big upcoming IGBCE congress in 2025, the trustees in the companies and board members of the IGBCE groups were re-elected every four years. These people are the "faces" of the IGBCE in the companies and the regions and play an important role in the orientation and strength of the union in Lusatia.
Prominent keynote speakers and guests took the event as an opportunity to appreciate Ute Liebsch's many years of work in the region in detail. The good cooperation and social partnership between IGBCE and LEAG were also emphasized. Michael Kretschmer, the Saxon Prime Minister, emphasized the central role of IGBCE in the Transformation of Lausitz.
in a video message. In the subsequent speeches, Stephanie Albrecht-Suliak, the state district manager of IGBCE Nordost, and Hendrik Fischer, the State Secretary in the Ministry of Economics, Work and Energy of the State of Brandenburg, devoted themselves to the future challenges and perspectives of the trade union work in the region.
Reni Richter, the new district manager of the IGBCE district of Lausitz, gave a outlook on the new orientation of the team and the volunteers. Together with the power of the Montan determination from the lignite, the way to the future should be denied. The IGBCE remains strong in the companies, but also wants to be present in future companies. The aim of the union is to integrate all new operating structures into collective bargaining structures.
The future of the IGBCE continues to be in the companies, as was emphasized in the workshops of the trustees and local groups. The union will face the challenges and compensate for the decline in coal -based energy -driven by deepening and opening up new industries and companies. The focus is particularly on the future of electromobility, gas/hydrogen and renewable energy industry as well as the plastic, glass and paper industry. Here the IGBCE Lausitz has already taken a leading position with BASF Schwarzheide.
The deepening of cooperation and collective bargaining plays a crucial role. With its new team, IGBCE Lausitz will work to create new opportunities and perspectives for the members. A milestone has already been reached with the recent conclusion: For the first time, a bonus in the form of additional vacation days for union members was set in a nationwide area collective agreement.
IGBCE Lausitz remains an important political and economic actor in the region. Cooperation with the social partners, such as LEAG, is of great importance for the sustainable development of the country and the commitment of the union plays a driving force.
