Dogs at Christmas market: stress or festive joy?
Dogs at Christmas market: stress or festive joy?
In Berlin, visiting Christmas markets is becoming increasingly popular, but this shine can quickly become agony for our four -legged friends. Activists of the association "Saving Soul Pfotenfersung Berlin" criticize the crowded markets because many dogs experience extreme stress. On one of the markets, they discovered up to twenty dogs in one day that crouched under tables or ran around between the human legs. These observations are referred to as "hell for many dogs", since the narrow premises and the crowds for the animals are extremely uncomfortable. The discussion about the selfishness of the dog owners exposes a social dilemma: many owners in question simply seem to misunderstand the market as a kind of walk and take their dogs with them without concerns which are heavily criticized by users on Facebook, as Berlin Live reported.
a marketplace only for dogs
While a market can temporarily become a stress trap for dogs, the dog Christmas market "Sirius" relies on joy and a pleasant experience for all animal visitors. This shows a clear picture of the different approaches that Berlin pursues as part of the Christmas markets.
