Having judge on Mallorca shifts hearing of six German vacationers due to group rape
The hearing of six German vacationers planned for Saturday morning, who are accused of group rape in Mallorca, was postponed. A police spokesman confirmed this information without a reason. It is not yet known whether the vacationers will deny the crime.
The six men were brought to the court in Palma de Mallorca in the morning in handcuffs. They pulled their shirts over their heads so as not to be recognized. The judge must now decide whether the holidaymakers are taken into custody or released against depositing a deposit. In Spain, rape can be punished with up to twelve years in prison.
The police at least accuse some of the men rape an 18-year-old German tourist in a hotel room on Ballermann. The Spanish newspaper "última Hora" had reported that a video of rape was discovered on one of the suspects' cell phones.
According to the information from the police, one of the men met in the party stronghold at the Ballermann of the German woman on Thursday night. Both had mutually acceptable sex in the hotel room, but the woman was later raped by some of the five German friends of the man.
The woman was finally able to flee and alerted the police with the help of the hotel receptionist. The five men were arrested on Thursday at 3:40 a.m., while the sixth suspect was arrested on Friday.
According to "última Hora", the woman initially voluntarily went to the man of the man, but was rejected there because she was not a guest. Then the man went to a neighboring hotel in which his friends were housed.
When they returned later, the woman had mutually mutually agreed sex with two other men, but rejected the last three. Then she was raped. The origin of the arrested and the victim was initially unknown. A suspect has Turkish citizenship. Information about the place of residence of holidaymakers in Germany was not published. (dpa)
