Invitation | Future house for the federal government - foundation stone for new office in Neukölln
Neukölln, Berlin - The Bund for the Environment and Nature Conservation Germany (BUND) celebrates the laying of the foundation stone of its new federal office at Rollbergstrasse 26.
The construction of the future house stands for sustainable building and shows how environmentally friendly architecture can have a positive impact on the cityscape. The new office is built in a wood-hybrid construction, which ensures sustainable materials and minimized energy consumption. The formerly fully sealed area is partially sealed to make room for green areas in the courtyard and on the roof.
In addition to the BUND federal board, representatives from the neighborhood, trades and state and local politicians are invited to present the construction project and together a time capsule with souvenirs that have a connection to the federal government. The event will take place on Friday, July 12, 2024 and starts at 12:00 p.m. After the greeting by Olaf Bandt, the federal chairman, Carl-Wilhelm Bodenstein-Dresler will present the project. The time capsule is then filled and sunk and the event ends around 1:10 p.m. A snackback then offers the possibility of informal exchange.
The federal government cordially invites everyone interested to get an idea of the construction project and the event on site. An email can be sent to press@bund.net to register for the laying of the foundation stone. Further information on the new building is available on the BUND website.
The construction of the new office of the federal government is a significant step for the organization and strengthens its commitment to environmental and nature conservation measures in Berlin and beyond. The future house shows the positive influence of sustainable construction methods on the environment and may encourage other initiatives for environmentally friendly building.
The federal government has been committed to protecting nature and preservation of the environment for many decades. The new office enables the organization to expand its activities and to focus on ecological construction projects and sustainable architecture. The construction project in Neukölln is therefore not only a symbolic milestone for the federal government, but also a step into a greener future for the city of Berlin.
