Large robbery in the green vault: Dresden's police are hard against clans in Berlin
- The hunt for the stolen jewels from the green vault in Dresden, the Saxon police also kept in suspense four years after the spectacular slump. Theft in November 2019 is one of the greatest art thefts of German post -war history, in which art objects and jewelry worth over 100 million euros were stolen.
- In the course of the investigation, several members of the well-known Remmo clan were arrested in Berlin. Although some of the stolen pieces were returned damaged and the perpetrators received comparatively mild punishments, the Dresden police continue to keep an eye out for the lack of jewels and possible masterminds.
- Regardless of the confessions of the convicted perpetrators, the backers of the robbery and the whereabouts of the lack of jewels remain a mystery. Dresden's police chief Lutz Rodig makes it unequivocally clear to the members of the Remmo clan in Berlin that the search for the stolen jewels will continue until all pieces have been found.
- The identity of the backers of the burglary is still unknown and the investigation continues. A trial against Jihad Remmo, brother and cousin of the already convicted clan members is scheduled to begin in Dresden in January 2024. He is seen as a suspected accomplice in spectacular art theft.
