Large diversions in local and long-distance traffic: trains stop in Erfurt!
From November 8th to November 22, rail traffic between Erfurt and Göthe will be severely affected. Deutsche Bahn has announced a diversion for the RE 1 line, which runs from Göttingen to Gera and Glauchau. Trains start and end in Erfurt, with the Neudietorf and Gotha stops. The section between Gotha and Erfurt is replaced by buses.
In long-distance transport there are no direct ICE trains between Berlin and Frankfurt via Erfurt. Instead, travelers have to switch to hourly connections via Wolfsburg and Kassel. Furthermore, travel times for the connections between Erfurt and Frankfurt and the ICE route Wiesbaden-Frankfurt-Erfurt-Dresden are extended, which is diverted via Würzburg. This leads to a delay of about 30 minutes.
