Big fire on SBAZV site in Ludwigsfelde: warehouse with waste paper on flames

Am Donnerstagabend wurde die Feuerwehr zu einem Großeinsatz in Ludwigsfelde gerufen. Auf dem Gelände des SBAZV brach ein Brand in einer Lagerhalle aus, in der Altpapier gelagert wurde. Der benachbarte Recyclinghof war von dem Feuer nicht betroffen. Mehr als 60 Einsatzkräfte der umliegenden Feuerwehren eilten zum Brandort und bekämpften die Flammen in der Lagerhalle. Dabei kamen unter anderem zwei Löschfahrzeuge zum Einsatz. Die Feuerwehrleute trugen Atemschutzgeräte, um sich vor dem Rauch zu schützen. Residents were asked to close doors and windows. However, the smoke moved into the area around Ludwigsfelde for miles, but nobody was in direct danger.

In order to get the burning waste paper from the warehouse, an excavator was used. In the meantime, the extinguishing work continued. The use lasted until late in the evening. Meanwhile, the firefighters were provided with meals.

The exact cause of the fire is still unclear and is examined by the police. Traces have already been secured. It is not yet known how much the financial damage is through the fire.

Due to the fire on the SBAZV site, there are no restrictions for the Recyclinghof on the Löwenbrucher Ring. This is open on Friday as usual from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
