Great fire on the Brauhausberg: The police ended trace in the former state parliament
The police hired their search for traces in the former state parliament on the Brauhausberg in Potsdam after a major fire. Just a few days after the fire on August 5, the fire investors completed their work on site. First of all, they had to wait for their use because the building was in danger of collapse and had to be checked by the THW statics.
There are no knowledge of the cause of the fire so far. The evaluation of the secured traces can take several days or weeks. The property was handed over to the owner and it is urgently warned against entering the site. There is still a risk to life through falling parts of the building or stones.
In the fire, the entire roof structure of the southern tribal wing was affected. The roof structure collapsed shortly after the fire brigade arrived. A fireman was injured in the operation.
The police are now looking for witnesses who have made observations between 12:00 and 3:30 p.m. that could possibly be related to the fire. Photo or video recordings are also sought from the surroundings of the building that could help with further investigations.
It is already the second fire in the annex within a short time. It had already burned there two and a half weeks ago, but the fire could be contained and deleted in good time. Back then, fire experts from the police had secured traces on site. The police are now hoping for information from the population to clarify the cause of the fire.
