Greenair: Trade with high-quality CO2 certificates for companies to improve ecological footprint
Greenair, a company from Berlin, is expanding its business model to trade in high-quality and tested CO2 certificates. Companies can thus effectively improve their ecological footprint. The complicated selection process is simplified by self -developed software and customers can choose from strictly certified national and international climate protection projects. According to the principles of Oxford University, these projects are checked for their CO2 balance sheet to compensate for part of the CO2 footprint and at the same time to promote the development and promotion of climate protection projects.
Greenair has set itself the goal of creating trust in the opaque CO2 market. In the past there have been a number of scandals for poorly certified projects, as ZDF uncovered. Mineral oil companies used fake projects in China to achieve their climate goals. These projects were certified by German test institutes and approved by the Federal Environment Agency. At Greenair, stricter requirements for climate protection projects are already standard.
The company not only has supported the trade in emission certificates in the regulated compliance market since 2022, but also actively promotes the development of new climate protection projects in Germany. This enables companies to establish a direct connection to local projects and strengthen trust in real climate protection. Companies that pursue a clear decarbonization strategy secure a competitive advantage as an ecologically responsible brand and at the same time accelerate the expansion of the Voluntary Carbon Market.
For companies that have already switched from combustion to electric vehicles and charging stations, Greenair offers the opportunity to become active in the compliance market and to bundle, certify and sell the generated CO2 savings. The profits can then be invested directly in further climate protection projects. Greenair has already paid over 30 million euros in premiums and processed more than 250 million kWh to give many customers access to CO2 markets.
The company has established itself as a leading provider in the area of THG trade and continues its ambitious vision to drastically reduce the CO2 emissions of companies. With over 300 B2B partners, more than 80,000 registered vehicles and charging stations as well as a team of 20 in Berlin and Kitzbühel, Greenair is the market leader in the roof area. The company recorded an impressive increase in sales of 6 million euros in 2022 to around 30 million euros in 2023 and has proven that sustainable growth is possible even without external investors.
"We have to think globally and act locally. Greenair focuses on making his business model to make a real difference and effectively promoting decarbonization," explains Dr. Christoph Chomik, co-CEO from Greenair. Marcel Preuß, also Co-CEO, adds: "Our trip began with the simplification of the application process in the Compliance Carbon area and is now becoming a mission to design the future of CO2 certificates on the international carbon markets and thus offer a solution along the entire trip to the Net-Zero goal".
Greenair offers digital solutions in sustainability management and has established itself as the market leader in the B2B -HG quotas. The company enables partners and customers to take on an active role in climate protection and to achieve sustainable development goals of the United Nations.
