Court trial against 84-year-olds: fight for his home
In the district court of Wedding, almost 50 people gathered, including friends, neighbors and reporters to pursue the trial against Manfred Moslehner. The 84-year-old man, also known as a "man", has lived in a house since his birth that is now to be cleared because an investor has acquired the settlement and has plans for modernization and profit maximization. Muslehner, alive and with a modest pension, received the termination before Christmas and has been fighting against the loss of his home for years.
The judge who checks the case shows emotional emotions and doubts whether she actually has to make a judgment. Since the sale of the settlement to a real estate developer in 2010, the residents, including Manfred Moslehner, have fought against the modernization plans. Many long -established tenants have now died while their houses were modernized and resold.
Moslehner refused to have the modernization work required by the investor, since he could not afford the associated increase in rent. His lawyer presented a certificate in the court that illustrated his mental stress due to the situation. Philipp Philipp, a representative of the investment group, to which the landlord belongs, stated in court that a legal decision should be made after 10 years of discussion.
Despite the alternative moving alternatives, Muslehner could not find an acceptable solution and shows little willingness to leave his home. The judge, moved by the circumstances, announced that it would take time for her decision. A spark of hope remains because a member of the Bundestag is supposed to mediate. Canan Bayram from the Greens will endeavor to find a solution before the judgment may be announced next week.
