"In our projects we learn every day from which need children flee. War, forced marriage practices or recruitment as child soldiers are just a few of the terrible reasons," continues Hofert.

The organization demands that instead of further tightening in the asylum system and performance cuts, investing in the future of children. Children in particular need psychosocial support, access to education and health care to get a fair opportunity in Germany. "It is time to create the foundations for a safe and beneficial environment where children have the opportunity to develop," said Hofert.
