Winter opening times of the city library: More space for reading and learning
The adventure begins from October 1st: The Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg city library opens its doors longer in the winter half-year! In the venerable halls of the Pablo Neruda district central library, the Wilhelm Liebknecht/Namik Kemal center library and the Friedrich von Raumer district library, book lovers and media fanatics can look forward to additional free times. These new opening times apply until the end of April 2025 and promise to make the cold months more exciting!
What does that mean specifically? The libraries are now ready for you on Fridays and Saturdays! In peace, you can discover analog and digital treasures, borrow or return the media through the self -booking machines. Perfect for everyone who wants to spend the winter evenings with reading, researching or even playing! The only downside: no personal advice is possible during these extended opening times. But don't worry - the library has a lot of jobs available!
a place to linger
District Mayor Clara Herrmann emphasizes the special importance of the libraries: "Our library locations are important public places that are used intensively in our district. Especially in the dark season, the library is a place to meet, read, play and work as a place without consuming. These words are not only a call, but also an invitation to everyone to experience the community and use the diverse offers!
