Stadtwerkstatt Baerwaldbad: Citizens' participation for the common good -oriented future
The district office Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and the local building team invite you to a public city workshop to discuss solutions for the future of the closed Baerwaldbad. The event is accompanied by the district councilors Andy Hehmke and Florian Schmidt. The aim is to make the Baerwaldbad accessible to the public again and to make usable purposes usable for common good. A feasibility study was created in advance to check possible options.
The municipal workshop will take place on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 6 p.m. on the Dragoons area/town hall block in Berlin. Andy Hehmke, district councilor for school, sports and facility management, emphasizes the search for a sustainably sustainable management concept for social uses. Florian Schmidt, district councilor for building, planning and cooperative urban development, sees considerable potential for a common good -oriented use of the Baerwaldbad.
The event is aimed at residents, interested parties and actors with experience in the field of pioneering uses. In the first part, the result of the feasibility study is presented, followed by lectures on operating models of comparable projects. In the second part, those present are brought together at work tables in order to outline possible pioneering uses and to check a realization strategy.
press representatives have the opportunity to take part in a press tour before the event. Registrations are possible by email.
The initiative to revive the Baerwaldbad shows the commitment of the local community for a common good urban development. This project could have a positive impact on the local community and expand leisure opportunities in the area. The event offers a platform for citizen participation and the opportunity to help shape the future of the Baerwaldbad.
A historical perspective shows that the Baerwaldbad was an important social meeting point in the past. The reopening could thus build on earlier traditions and create a new cultural space for the community.
