City walk on July 9: Community in the focus of the district development!
On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, a city walk will take place in Berlin, the focus of which is on cooperative neighborhood developments. This event, which is organized by district councilor Florian Schmidt, offers interested parties the opportunity to gain an insight into the common good -oriented urban development. The walk begins at 4:00 p.m. on Franz-Künstler-Straße, corner of old Jakobstrasse, and ends at 6:30 p.m. The aim is to inform about the planned creation of over 1,000 new apartments and social infrastructure that are developed in cooperation with state -owned housing associations, cooperatives and private builders.
The course of the city walk comprises several stations. The first stop is the district development in Franz-Künstler-Straße, where around 500 apartments and 300 accommodation places for refugees and 75 experimental living spaces are to be built. In addition, areas for retail and social infrastructure are planned. The new development of the parking pallet is presented at the second station, the block 616 district development. There are 70% of the area for apartments, 30% of which are subsidized. The new development of the AOK parking lot is also discussed, which includes at least 100 apartments and social infrastructure.

After the stations, the participants are invited to end the evening with drinks and snacks in front of the city workshop.
