The Kreuzberger Wine: A symbol of community and cooperation
The Kreuzberg wine in 2022 has recently been available under a new name. The renaming took place during a jury session in 2022 after the district office called the residents to submit names. The wine now bears the name "Freedom of wine" and is the result of a joint effort of a team from the Kreuzberg district.
The origin of the grapes from which this delicious wine was created is not specified for legal reasons. Nevertheless, the team thanks the partner cities of Ingelheim and Wiesbaden for their support, without which the production of this wine would not have been possible.
Interested parties can pick up the red and white wine for a donation at "Hofgrün" at Methfesselstraße 10 and in the FHXB Museum at Adalbertstraße 95a.
The history of the Kreuzberg wine goes back to 1968 when the twin city of Wiesbaden gave the district five vines of the Riesling variety. In the following years, further foundations of vineyards followed by the partner cities of Bergstrasse and Ingelheim am Rhein. Today, around 300 vines are cultivated on the Kreuzberg, which symbolically stand for the close connection with the partner cities.
The Kreuzberg wine is not only a pleasure for the palate, but also a symbol of community and cooperation. He unites the forces and traditions of different cities and reminds that many hands work together to create something special.
