New projects for more security & cleanliness in Görlitzer Park: climbing, sports & music!

In the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district, new funds are provided for social, cultural and sporting projects. The steering committee recently decided to release funds for various projects. This includes a climbing offer in Görlitzer Park, the purchase of sports equipment, a music and dance project and the continuation of ongoing projects until 2025. The aim is to make public space around Görlitzer Park safer and cleaner and to improve the quality of life of the residents in the surrounding quarter.

The planned installation of an open climbing offer at Haus 1 in Görlitzer Park, which is to be largely supervised by the German Alpine Association, was particularly emphasized. Furthermore, additional sports equipment in the park should be made accessible to everyone in order to create a safe space for sports and exercise. A musical project called Jambu also plans to introduce the Forró tradition, a popular music and dance style from northeastern Brazil, to Görlitzer Park.

These measures should not only contribute to the recovery of the park, but also promote social interaction. District Mayor Clara Herrmann also emphasized the importance of a nationwide strategy in dealing with drug addiction and the increased combating of organized crime by the police authorities.
