New exhibition Human Habitats from January in Berlin's old fire station
The exhibition "Human Habitats" will take place from January 20 to March 10, 2024 in the project room Alte Feuerwache in Berlin. The exhibition will present paintings by Julius Weiland and a space -wide installation of Anna Borgman. Weiland's works show urban scenes in which everything is reduced to the essentials and the pure geometry and color remains. An accompanying program with a concert on February 11 and a finissage on March 10th is also offered. The opening of the exhibition will take place on January 19 at 7 p.m.
In Weiland's works, excerpts are painted by major social settlements that represent the spaces of failed utopias. The lack of all traces of humans receive a strangely fascinating and at the same time uncanny atmosphere. Borgman's installation "Think Tanks" focuses on the supply of people in metropolitan areas and focuses on the massive silver silos that are typical memory and can be found on the edges of all cities. In the old fire station, the containers set a spatial accent that corresponds to the illustrations of the rooms in Weiland's paintings.
The exhibition thus offers an interesting artistic examination of the architectural urban space and takes a look at various aspects of urban life. Further information on the exhibition and the accompanying program can be obtained via the specified media contact. It is expected that the exhibition and the accompanying program attract local art as well as visitors from other regions and thus promote a cultural exchange.
