Cold aid in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg: 308 overnight stays for the needy!

The Cold Hilb season 2024/2025 in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg has started, and up to 308 overnight stays are available every day. These will be provided from October to April in the coming months, with about 29 percent of the places being reserved especially for female guests. This measure makes the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district through Berlin because it offers almost a third (32.4 percent) of all low-threshold overnight accommodations, including emergency overnight stays and night cafes.

In addition to the seasonal cold help offers, there are year-round emergency supernatants in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district, such as at Ohlauer Straße 365 or the emergency overnight stay for women "in the middle of the neighborhood".

The deputy mayor and social councilor Oliver Nöll said positively about these measures. He thanked everyone involved, especially the volunteers, for their commitment. However, Nöll also emphasized that reforms are urgently needed in the cold help offer. It advocates more addiction -accompanying offers, low -threshold social work support and a qualitative development of the entire system.

The long-term goal of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and the State of Berlin is to overcome homelessness by 2030 and to make the offers of help superfluous.

Further information on the cold help facilities in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and throughout Berlin can be found on the website of the district.
