Anniversary festival of the music school: summer festival and open house day

The Musikschule Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg celebrates its 75th anniversary with a big summer festival on Mariannenplatz and an open day in the Bethanien art center. The festival will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Children and families are invited to a hands -on concert on Mariannenplatz at 3 p.m., while instruments can be tried between 4 and 5.45 p.m. and various concerts can take place in the music school in the Kunstquartier Bethanien. Various music styles such as Bluegrass, classical music, jazz, popular music and old music are presented. A highlight is the anniversary concert with band, choir and teacher orchestra at 6 p.m. on Mariannenplatz.

District Mayor Clara Herrmann will be present at the festival and speak a greeting. Former and current students will take part in a conversation together with the district mayor, including the alumna Maria Baptist, who is now a successful jazz musician. The big band "Jazzorchester X-Berg" will play from 7.30 p.m.

The Musikschule Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg is the district music school and offers a wide range of offers for all interested people. District Mayor Clara Herrmann praised the music school as an important cultural enrichment for society and thanked everyone who enabled the diverse offer of the music school.
