Steglitz-Zehlendorf, where the proportion of the population over 65 years is 25.7 percent, recorded most of the deaths with 3,850 and had the lowest increase of +0.4 percent.

In Neukölln, the deaths rose only by 1.6 percent, but there were declines in 23 out of 46 planning rooms. Despite the general increase in deaths, there was a birth surplus in several districts. Mitte recorded a surplus of +989, followed by Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg with +811 and Pankow with +2, such as the Statistics Berlin-Brandenburg added.

population trends in Berlin

As the Statistics Berlin-Brandenburg, this demographic data is not only important for the public, but also serve as an important basis for political decisions in family, social and housing policy. The natural population movement includes birth, death and marriage statistics that are continuously updated.

By recording these demographic developments, urban authorities can better react to this and develop strategies to improve the quality of life in the individual districts. The medium -term forecasts for Berlin could require a re -evaluation of population development in the urban context due to the increased birth rate and changed death images.
