Promotion of neighborhood projects in Kreuzberg 2024
The district office Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg has funded five pilot projects this year with the “Voluntary Commitment in Neighborhoods” program (Fein) in Kreuzberg. District Mayor Clara Herrmann praised the groups and initiatives that are committed to social cohesion in their neighborhoods. One of the funded projects is "Dütti against violence", which aims to combat violence in the Werner-Düttmann settlement. The project receives 26,000 euros in funding for the formation of a self -organized neighborhood initiative against violence. Another supported project is the association "MOG61 Together Without Borders e.V.", which has been committed to social integration and inclusion for over ten years and has received 35,000 euros this year.
The “Environmental Education Goes Askanischer Platz” project is also funded to promote environmental education and sustainability in the Kreuzberg neighborhoods. The aim is to promote biodiversity and to network the neighborhoods in Kreuzberg in environmental issues. The “Café International Encounters” project of Diakonie Stadtmitte e.V. is also supported to create a meeting place with advice for newcomers, especially traumatized refugees.
In addition, the fine pilot project of the neighborhood house Urbanstraße e.V., "Citizens' participation and Action Network Urbanhafen" is extended. The project aims to create low -threshold access to citizen participation and to support community work. It is funded with 32,000 euros.
The funds for the fine program are provided by the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Living.
