The film evening will present excerpts from the film "Walls 2.0 - Migrant and Anti -Racist perspectives on the fall of the Berlin Wall", which deals with the effects of the fall of the Berlin Wall on Turkish migrants in Kreuzberg. Film evening in the FHXB Museum: conversation about walls and migration

District Mayor Clara Herrmann informs about an upcoming film evening with a conversation organized by the FHXB Museum. The film evening will present excerpts from the film "Walls 2.0 - Migrant and Anti -Racist perspectives on the fall of the Berlin Wall", which deals with the effects of the fall of the Berlin Wall on Turkish migrants in Kreuzberg. The director Can Candan interviewed this group in 1991 and the authors Jana König, Elisabeth Steffen and Inga Turczyn have asked some participants again to reflect on their perspectives on topics such as racism, nationalism and economic exploitation.

The film evening will be accompanied by a discussion round in which Pia Eiringhaus from the Berlin Mauer Foundation, Jana König from the FHXB Museum and Inga Turczyn, freelance author and director. The moderation is taken over by Nora Hogrefe by the Coordination Center Historical City Markings, Aktivet Museum. The event will take place on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 6 p.m. in the FHXB Museum in Berlin. Admission is free and the event is carried out in German speakers and barrier -free.

This cooperation between the Berlin Referring Officer and the FHXB Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Museum offers visitors an insight into the multi-layered perspectives on the fall of the Berlin Wall and its effects on various groups in society. The event offers an opportunity for an interactive exchange about historical events and current social developments.
