Celebrate diversity: Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Pride Month 2024

Celebrate diversity: Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Pride Month 2024
pride in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and the twin town of Stettin
The Pride Month is a time when diversity and queer life are celebrated to support tolerance and diversity and to face discrimination and exclusion. In Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, this meaning is of particular importance because the district is known for its colorful diversity.
On Friday, July 19, the rainbow flag will be raised in front of the Friedrichshain town hall to set a strong sign of solidarity, equality and against queer hostility. District Mayor Clara Herrmann and representative of LGBTQIA*organizations will be there, which are committed to the rights of the community.
As part of the Pride Festival, a delegation from Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg will travel to Stettin on Saturday, July 20. There they take part in the equality picnic and the "Marsze Równości" (equality march). The city partnership between Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and Szczecin is strengthened by diverse cooperation, which is actively supported by the Association of City Partner Stettin e.V. This partnership promotes regular meetings, strengthening social cohesion, mutual respect and openness. These values will also be represented at the Pride Festival in Stettin, where district mayor Clara Herrmann, BVV leader Werner Heck, employee of the district and members of the city partner Stettin e.V. will be present.
The pride serves as an important memory of the need for tolerance and acceptance in our society. The celebrations in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and Szczecin show the importance of diversity and solidarity in a world that should be characterized by mutual respect and support.
