Invitation to the tour: The future of Urbanhafen and Urbanstrasse
The press release provides information about a planned tour of the current Urbanhafen and Urbanstrasse projects in Berlin. During the tour, interested citizens are to be informed about the state of planning, opportunities for participation and challenges. Experts from the planning will accompany the tour and give detailed insights into the ongoing projects.
The feasibility study for a redistribution of the street space of Urbanstrasse began in May 2023 and is intended to take into account climate -friendly mobility. Also in autumn 2023, the planning for the construction work was started at the Urbanhafen. The first step of planning is the preliminary draft planning that was developed on behalf of the street and green space office.
The tour will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 10.20 a.m. to 11.45 a.m. at the Baerwald Bridge on the side of the urban port to the hospital. Registration is required by May 1, 2024 because the number of participants is limited. Interested parties can register by email or by phone.
Such citizen participation events are important in order to promote the transparency and participation of the citizens in urban planning projects. Early integration can avoid potential conflicts and increase acceptance for the planned measures.
