District Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg promotes artistic projects
The Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district recently announced that artistic and socio-cultural projects and projects of cultural education are funded with up to 5,000 euros. By awarding these funding, the innovative potential of the artists and the cultural institutions in the district are to be promoted and the variety of cultural infrastructure is to be strengthened.
The independent jury met on December 15, 2023 to decide on the allocation of funding for 2024. Despite available funding of around 190,000 euros, applications of EUR 980,633.24 were compared. A total of 40 projects received funding recommendations confirmed by the BVV's committee and education. The jury consisted of Ingo Arend, Sylvia Arnaout, Ahu Dural, Sebastian Hoffmann and Vera Hofmann.
A total of 42,345.00 euros are available for projects in the field of cultural education. Despite an application volume of 192,484 euros, nine projects were selected by a specialist jury, in which two young people also participated. The specialist jury consisted of Silke Ballath, Stéphane Bauer, Bernadette Binner, Alexander Buchholz, Stella Konstantinou, Markus Schega and Meri Timm.
Overall, these funding is to further strengthen the cultural scene in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and the diversity of the artistic projects in the district is promoted. It is pointed out that the funding is issued subject to the available budget.
