Across Berlin: Auto-Adieu! Temporary game road campaign days on September 20 & September 22nd
On the occasion of World Children's Day and the International Car Free Day, Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg is planning a remarkable event for the fifth time in Berlin. Supported by the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate and Environmental Protection, temporary play streets are set up in order to redesign the public space and offer children and residents more space for activities. These special road sections should be closed to car and bike traffic to create space to play and experience together.
The neighborhood initiatives carry out the game road campaign days, while the street and green space office takes over the entire organization. Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg plans to set up five temporary play streets on the two days. On Friday, September 20, the campaign on Singerstrasse (between Kraut and Andreasstraße) from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Wrangelstrasse (between Oppelner and Sorauer Straße) will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. On Sunday, September 22nd, the residents can look forward to the Niederbarnimstraße (house no. 18-22) from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Forster Straße (between Reichenberger Straße and Paul-Linke-Ufer) from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Richard-Sorge-Straße (between Mühsamstrasse and Straßmannstrasse) from 2 to 6 p.m.
For further information on the Berlin -wide game streets, you can visit the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment. A detailed list of all temporary play streets in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district is available on a special page.
The organizers are available at press@ba-fk.berlin.de or the telephone number (030) 90298-2843. Look forward to eventful days in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg with exciting activities for young and old!
