251,709 Transport offenses in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg: Balance 2023

Last year, a total of 251,709 traffic administrative offenses were found and punished in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district. This emerges from a current press release from the regulatory office. Cars were particularly frequently parked in the twelve parking space -managed areas without a valid resident or parking ticket, which led to 179,687 violations. In addition, 3,728 vehicles were implemented that were illegally parked, for example on cycling or sidewalks. Administrative behavior of scooters, e-scooters and cyclists also led to fines.

District Councilor Annika Gerold praised the employees of the regulatory office for their commitment to maintaining security and order in the district. It emphasized the need for better financial and personnel equipment for the regulatory offices in order to effectively counter the increasing number of traffic administrative offenses.

The different types of traffic offenses and the number of cases found in the table below are listed in the past year:

| Type of traffic administration | Number of cases |
| ————————————- | —————— |
| Parking without valid vignette | 179.687 |
| Implementation of vehicles | 3.728 |
| Administrative behavior of scooters | 3.728 |
| Violations of cyclists | 902 |

The high number of traffic administrative offenses in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district illustrates the need for increased surveillance and control in road traffic to ensure the safety of all road users. The demand for better financial and personnel equipment for the regulatory offices shows that the local authorities are faced with major challenges in order to enforce compliance with the traffic rules.
