Festive climate and driving fun: traffic and climate festival in Lichtenberg

Next Saturday, September 21, 2024, a special event for the whole family will take place in Berlin-Friedrichsfelde- the Lichtenberger Verkehrs and climate. From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., numerous exciting actions and a diverse range of climate protection and mobility are presented in the transport school at Baikalstraße 4.

This festival brings people of all ages together to actively deal with climate protection and sustainable mobility. District City Councilor Filiz Küllüoğlu from Bündnis 90/The Greens emphasizes that climate protection can not only be important but also entertaining. She cordially invites all visitors to take part in participating offers and to exchange ideas about future projects and measures.

Another highlight of the day will be the opening by school councilor Sandy Mattes from the SPD. As a new member of the district office, she is looking forward to getting to know the diverse offers for climate -friendly mobility and environmental protection in the district. The festival offers an opportunity to talk to committed actors and to find out more about sustainable initiatives.

Visitors to the traffic and climate defeat can look forward to a varied program. Various means of transportation can be tried out from Kettcars to cargo bikes to e-bikes. In addition, visitors can produce sustainable cleaning agents, create creatively with natural materials and print out the cloth bags themselves.

A special highlight are the free participation offers for children, including clowning, exciting games such as “competing for slowness” and the puppet theater piece “Korallenreiff” at 4 p.m. The physical well -being is also taken care of, with a variety of food and drinks.

The Cuban band Grupo Caney will provide musical entertainment, while the Berlin police offer a free bicycle registration to prevent thefts. The festival promises an entertaining afternoon for the whole family and admission is free.
