Conference in Treptow: Focus on mental health of refugees!
On June 19, 2025, an important conference will take place in the TREPTOW Rathaus, Neue Krugallee 4, 12435 Berlin, which deals with the mental health of people with escape experience. The event begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. The aim is to make a constructive contribution to an often stigmatizing discourse on mentally ill people and to illuminate the challenges in front of which many refugees are facing.
questions and workshops
At the conference, various questions are put in the foreground. This includes the reduction of hurdles to use psychosocial help and the identification of the needs of the people and specialists affected. The program provides for several keynote speeches, including Dr. Jens Hellmann and Maya Böhm, who will outline the problems in the morning. After a lunch break, workshops are on the agenda that deal with the needs of the target groups.
at 2:00 p.m. there is a panel discussion that brings together experts from various organizations, including Abdel Amine Mohammed from Blackademy e.V. and Eva Hösch from "Part Halle". The event ends at 2:45 p.m. with networking on the topics developed. A lunch snack is provided for meals, while drinks are not provided. Self -sufficiency is recommended.
cooperation and research
The specialist conference is organized in cooperation with the office for participation and integration as well as the quality development, planning and coordination office for public health (QPK). The cooperation aims to strengthen research on psychosocial support (MHPSS) in the escape context and promote innovative approaches. The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) supports these efforts and is committed to ensuring that MHPSS becomes part of international development cooperation. The integration of refugees as active actors into their own mental health is the focus of the initiative.
In summary, the planned activities and discussions of the conference offer a valuable platform to address the challenges for people with refugee experience. The exchange between specialists and those affected is seen as a key to effective solutions, such as in the goals of the working group . The commitment of everyone involved is crucial to ensure the urgently needed psychosocial support.Details | |
