Escalation according to Palestine demo in Schöneberg: Police intervene!
Ansbacher Straße, 10785 Berlin, Deutschland - in Berlin there was a heated incident on Saturday during a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Schöneberg. Around 350 participants who protested for their solidarity with Palestine and against the Gaza conflict were still on Wittenbergplatz after the demo at 6 p.m. Some refused to leave the event, which finally led to the police had to intervene. The situation escalated when some demonstrators stormed on a side entrance of the famous KaDeWe (department store of the West). Security forces of the department store closed the door while the police were on site to control the situation and temporarily arrested several people.
The protest participants wore black and white palestinian towels and waved flags from various nations, including Iran and Lebanon. Despite a near -taking counter -demonstration, this happened in which only a few people took part, which were also separated from each other by the police. Like www.morgenpost.de reported, there was only a similar incident last weekend, in which 57 people had been temporarily arrested and the police also had to intervene against" accumulating crimes "during this demonstration.
