Escalation at Berlin's propalestine demo: eight injured in the event of resolution
politicians are calling for peaceful protest - solidarity with injuries
Once more in Berlin in connection with the Gaza War there was a propalestinian demonstration, this time in the Steglitz and Schöneberg districts. But this time it wasn't calm.
The police had to intervene and dissolve the demo after calls to be criminally relevant under criminal law. A total of eight people were injured in the mission, including one person.
The demonstration had started in Steglitz in the afternoon and moved towards Innsbrucker Platz. The number of participants was over 600 people. Five injuries were brought to hospitals for treatment, but fortunately they were mostly circulatory problems and smaller injuries.
It is important that political demonstrations are in peace and security without hurt people. The solidarity with the injured and the demand for non -violent protest is in the foreground of the discussion.
The police acted to maintain public order and dissolved the demo after a few hours. The political actors emphasize the importance of non -violence in any form of protest and call on to exercise the right to freedom of demonstration.
It is hoped that future demonstrations will be peaceful and give everyone involved the opportunity to express their opinion without injuries or incidents.
