The Wedding Center invites everyone interested to a special neighborhood walk, which serves to explore and preserve living places in the district. Under the motto "Created and preserved living places in the neighborhood", the participants will take part in a two-hour tour to visit five stations around the colony, bank and Gottschedstrasse. The district councilor for urban development and facility management, Ephraim Gothe, the district councilor for order, environment, nature, streets and green spaces, Christopher Schriner, and the district councilor for school and sport, Benjamin Fritz, will accompany the event together with the district coordination Wedding Center.
The neighborhood walk takes place on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., the meeting point is in front of the coloniehof in Koloniestrasse 10, 13357 Berlin. Participation is free of charge, but conditionally barrier -free. Special needs should be registered with the district coordination in advance. The entire walk is supported acoustically with microphone and boxes, and prior registration is not required.
The route of the neighborhood walk
The walk begins at the coloniehof, a historic farm that is to be preserved as a meeting point in the district. The participants will also visit the meadow behind the district court of Wedding to learn more about the new Badpankstraße funding and renovation area. An insight into the cultural site is given on the site of the riverside halls, followed by a visit to the youth traffic school in Gottschedstrasse. Finally, the participants will get to know the art café Cocoon on Exerzierstrasse.
The main goal of the neighborhood walk is to promote the exchange about the use and revitalization as well as the preservation of places where neighbors come together and exchange ideas. The participants have the opportunity to get to know committed residents and actors of the district and to learn more about their projects.
