Discover democracy: Open day in the Red City Hall!
On Saturday, June 21, 2025, the first open house will be cordially invited to which the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner. Under the motto "Experience democracy", the historic building opens its doors from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to interested citizens. The aim of this event is to give insights into the work of the Berlin Senate and to present the premises in the Red City Hall. Admission is free.
Visitors have the opportunity to visit the Senate meeting room, the coat of arms, the ballroom and the government's office. During the day, various formats are offered, including several talk rounds with Wegner itself, the State Secretary for Digitization and Administrative Reform, Martina Klement, and the head of the Senate Chancellery, Florian Graf. The State Secretary for federal and European matters, Florian Hauer, also answered questions from the audience together with the protocol chief Georg Klußmann.

A special highlight will be the “speed dating” with town hall employees, in which visitors can ask questions about the various areas of work. In addition, hands -on stations on topics such as the digital Berlin, the Europe area and the State of Berlin are available. Special hands -on offers are provided for the younger visitors to enable the children to participate.
The courtyard of the town hall is not only equipped with gastronomic offers, but also acts as a stage location for the Fête de la Musique, which will take place there for the first time this year. In addition, the Berlin water -company supports the event with a free water bar and recommends bringing their own drinking bottles to the guests.
For media representatives, there is the possibility to register at 3 p.m. by Friday, June 20, 2025. The press access takes place via the side entrance Jüdenstraße 1, whereby only bags up to the size of A3 are allowed. Workplaces for media representatives are set up in room 350, and photos for reporting will be provided from 6 p.m.
