Emotional insights: exhibition of refugee children in Berlin

in the heart of Berlin, more precisely in the Kungerkiez gallery, visitors can expect a touching exhibition that makes the suffering and hopes of refugee children visible. The event entitled “1,000 pictures of refugee children” takes place from September 7th to 28th, 2024 and is a unique opportunity to experience the perspectives of children that were shaped by the horrors of the war.

This special exhibition shows a collection of drawings created by Ukrainian children during their stay in Berlin Central Station. Your works have been digitized and are projected alive in the gallery by using a projector. This not only creates an urgent atmosphere, but also brings the creative forms of expression of the children, which despite their experiences in war and on the run, find a way to record their experiences artistically.

an impressive artistic examination

The exhibits are not just pictures; They are an expression of child perception in a world that is often characterized by fear and uncertainty. The young artists express their experiences in bright colors and playful motifs, which transport both joy and sadness. These works of art invite the viewers to think about peace and ask the important questions that many people ask themselves: Why do children have to suffer from the consequences of conflicts? They tell stories that move the viewers to pause and think about the absurdity of the war and the innocence of the children who are thrown into this situation.

The Kungerkiez gallery also offers opportunities for active participation throughout the exhibition. Visitors are cordially invited to create their own artistic works that serve as a response to the exhibited images. This not only promotes the creative participation of the visitors, but also enables a dialogue on painful topics in a respectful environment.
