Arctic Ocean - Discover Arctic beauty in the Bremerhaven climate!

A look into the depths of the Arctic: Aurel Dahlgrüns "Iceaer" in the Bremahaus Bremerhaven

On September 20, 2024, the special exhibition "ISMeer" in the Bremerhaven Klimahaus opens its doors and invites visitors to immerse yourself in the fascinating underwater world in front of Greenland. This exhibition, which will be shown by November 28, 2024, presents the impressive photo works by the artist Aurel Dahlgrün, which was created during an expedition in 2022

Aurel Dahlgrün, born in Berlin in 1989, specialized in the exploration of remote places, both over and under water. His works of art not only show the perspective of human experience, but also call up to deal with the effects of climate change on the fragile polar regions. Through impressive images he would like to illustrate the urgency with which we need our environment and its protection.

The exhibition goes beyond a simple collection of photographs. With a small team, Dahlgrün explored the untouched nature by moving on husky sledges, boats or walking over the frozen sea to find suitable diving sites. Here he dived under the meter -thick ice and exposed a hidden underwater world. These insights are supplemented by impressive aerial photographs that offer the viewer an extraordinary perspective.

The works of art of Dahlgrün impress with its intensive coloring and depth, which is achieved by an elaborate gravure process. Self -made colors are pressed into handmade paper, which gives the photographs a special expression and reflects the breathtaking beauty of the Arctic.

This exhibition is not only a visual experience, but also an urgent reminder to support global climate protection. Through the works of art, the ice cream becomes a symbol of the fragility of these unique habitats, which are very endangered by climate change. The photographs ask visitors to think about the reality and the challenges that the earth faces.

The exposure "Arctic Ocean" can be visited daily from Monday to Sunday between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the Bremerhaven Klimahaus. The exhibition is part of the experience in the climate.

This gathering of art and environmental awareness shows how important it is to deal with nature and to recognize both the beauty and the vulnerability of our world.
