in the semi -finals Berlin meets Mannheim

The next challenge for the polar bears is already at the door. The round of the best four begins on April 1 and 2. There they meet the Adler Mannheim, who lead 3-2 in their quarter-final series against the EHC Red Bull Munich. Mannheim won the last game 4: 3. Matthias Plachta scored the decisive goal in the second extension. Already in the regular season, John Gilmour, Plachta and Kris Bennett met for the eagles, while Munich was able to score through Filip Varejcka, Nicolas Kreimmer and Adam Brooks.

The DEL was founded in 1994 and replaced the previous ice hockey Bundesliga. It is the highest ice hockey division in Germany and is led by a company organization. DEL record champions are the Eisbären Berlin with a total of eight championship titles, followed by the Adler Mannheim, who won seven titles. From 2011 to 2013, the Eisbären Berlin were even able to win three championships in a row. The next game promises tension and could be a decisive course for the further course of the playoffs.

For the Eisbären Berlin, this is an opportunity to defend their title and to repeat the success of 2021 when they won their eighth championship title. The combination of talented players and experienced coaching will certainly be decisive.
