A journey into the Wilhelminian period: Experience home culture up close
On Tuesday, August 6th, interested parties have the opportunity to immerse themselves in an exciting historical era during an educational trip to Berlin. The Urania Center organizes a trip to Britz Castle, where the factors of the home culture of the Wilhelminian era are illuminated in five more than impressively designed rooms. The exhibition shows original pieces of furniture, handicrafts and contemporary room decorations that reflect the attitude to life of a wealthy family of that time.
Economic upswing and social development
The period of the Wilhelminian era, which is considered a significant economic upswing after the Franco-German War in 1870/1871 and the founding of the German Empire in 1871, is not only valued for its architectural heritage, but also for the social changes that it brought with it. The high reparation payments that were imposed on France led to increased growth in Germany, whereby the bourgeoisie in particular benefited from this economic upswing.
Invitation to participate
The educational trip starts at 8.45 a.m. at Busseig 7/8 at Neubrandenburg bus station. An amount of 80 euros will be charged for participation. Interested parties can register by phone on Tel. 0395 4214192 or by email at [Email Protected].
This excursion to Britz Castle is not only a way to gain interesting historical insights, but also an opportunity to become active part of today's society by experiencing history up close. The visit could be an inspiring experience for many that promotes a deeper understanding of the roots of modern German culture.
