In addition, guided tours by the archive of Villa Oppenheim are part of the program, which enables guests to experience deeper cultural experience.
The importance of volunteering
volunteer engagement is of great importance in Germany. The current situation illustrates how many people are active in Berlin: Around 50,000 young people are involved in youth associations. According to the volunteer survey, 54 percent of 14 to 17 year olds state to volunteer. This shows how important the younger generation is for the social structure and how much it contributes to democratic culture.
The age group of 12 to 25 year olds comprises around 345,000 committed, with 69 percent often or occasionally working for social or political goals. In order for young people to be adequately committed, special framework conditions are required. These include, for example, the consideration of school, training and study. The Berlin Youth Promotion and Participation Act has anchored the exemption from the profession for volunteering in youth work since 2020.
