Cornerpoint paper of the Federal Network Agency: Reduced network charges for industry and business with more flexible consumption

bee welcomes BNetza cornerstones for the flexibility of consumption

The Federal Network Agency (BNetza) recently presented a key point paper for reforming the network charges, which requires the network charges reduced by industry and business if they adapt their consumption to the range. This initiative was welcomed by the Federal Association of Renewable Energie e.V. (Bee) and considered another piece of the puzzle to flexible consumption in the energy transition.

Simone Peter, the President of the Bee, expressed a positive statement about the BNetza key point paper. It described it as a first step towards variable network charges and emphasized the importance of incentives for flexibility of consumption. In addition to the expansion of wind and solar energy, such incentives are one of the next major tasks in the energy transition.

The key point paper stipulates that the network -chart industrial consumers should encourage themselves to behave in market -use and systemically. This means that production should be raised in the event of a high power supply and reduced with a small offer. This orientation could reduce price fluctuations on the electricity market, the networks relieved and reduced costs. This would make the advantages that bring renewable energies of industry and the economy more visible.

The BNetzA's key point paper is therefore an important step towards the flexibility of consumption. Industrial consumers should be encouraged to adapt their electricity demand to the supply in order to further promote the advantages of renewable energies and to drive the change into a more sustainable energy future.

The BEE welcomes this measure and sees it as another positive signal for the energy transition. With the reform of the network charges, important signals can be sent to the industry in order to behave in the market -specific and thus contribute to the stability of the power grid.
