E-scooter driver dies after a fatal accident in Berlin-Wedding
A tragic accident in Berlin led to a fatal incident on Tuesday evening, November 25, 2024. A 25-year-old e-scooter driver was hit by a car at the Seestraße and Nordufer intersection, while, after initial investigations by the police, he drove over a pedestrian festival. The driver, a 43-year-old, was unharmed, but the young man was thrown into the air several meters by the impact and suffered life-threatening injuries. Despite the immediate first aid from a passerby and the subsequent revival in the hospital, the e-scooter driver died two days later, such as rbb24 reported.
The authorities have confiscated both the car and the e-scooter in order to check the technical details of the accident. This brings the number of traffic fatalities in Berlin to 50 this year, whereby traffic safety is strongly in focus, since the number was still 33 in the previous year. The incident caused dismay in the city and raises questions about the safety of e-scooters on road traffic, as well as noted.
Such accidents are alarming, especially against the background of rising figures for racing dead in Berlin. The incident underlines the need for a more intensive review of traffic rules and compliance with security measures for all road users in the capital.
