DRV honors Dr. Roman Glaser with Raiffeisen medal as an excellent representative of the German cooperative system
The German Raiffeisenverband (DRV) has its former Vice President Dr. Roman Glaser awarded the Raiffeisen Medal, and limited the cunning of the medal support to 30 people. DRV President Franz-Josef Holzenkamp described Glaser as the "prototype of a cooperative" and praised his commitment to the German cooperative. Glaser was President of the Baden-Württemberg cooperative association for eleven years and retired on January 1. His successor to the DRV Presidium is Dr. Ulrich Theilis.
At the general meeting of the DRV, Jörg Migende, general manager of the DRV, reported on the challenges with which the 1,656 cooperative companies in the agricultural and nutritional industry were confronted in 2023. Despite the difficult situation, companies have generated annual sales of 82.6 billion euros. However, according to Holzenkamp, the mood in the industry is very depressed due to the uncertainty and lack of predictability, which prevents investments.
