Drama in Berlin-Mitte: Great fire in the residential building, fire brigade in action!
In the early morning in Berlin-Mitte, a dramatic fire broke out in a residential and business building. Flames hit up, and thick smoke quoll from the ground floor, supposedly from a restaurant. The fire brigade was alerted shortly before 8 a.m. and moved up with over 120 emergency services to control the situation. A total of more than 14 people had to be saved from the building, with four people being taken to the hospital with suspected flue gas poisoning. Fortunately, there are no serious injuries.
The fire brigade fought the flames that spread over ventilation pipes to the roof of the five -story building. The extinguishing work was challenging, especially on the roof, where special tools were used. In the morning the flames were finally deleted, but firefighters discovered a fire stove in the afternoon, which was immediately deleted. Oranienburger Straße was closed to traffic during the operation to ensure the safety of the emergency services. Further information on this incident can be found here .
