The 21-year-old was hired for Esteban Ocon at short notice, who left the team prematurely. According to Berlin Live , however, Doohan's career could already be questioned, because there are rumors about another driver change at Alpine. Flavio Briatore, who is now an executive advisor at Alpine, is said to have thrown an eye on the Argentine Youngster Franco Colapinto. This could already set positive signals at Williams, but has no fixed space for 2025.
The pressure situation for Doohan is tense. Despite the speculation about Colapinto, the Australian explains that Briatore does not put him under pressure. In an interview with Motorsport Week emphasized Doohan to use him to use the race to Learn and develop: "He wants me to end the race and learn as much as possible."
