Deutsche Telekom contradicts Höcke's false claim
Deutsche Telekom has decided to proceed against the claim of the AfD politician Björn Höcke, according to which the company allegedly used the slogan "Everything for Germany" as an advertising saying. A company spokesman rejected this statement as wrong and announced legal steps. This step took place after Höcke had made the questionable claim in the TV duel against the CDU politician Mario Voigt.
It turned out that the sentence in question is a forbidden solution of the storm department (SA), the paramilitary fighting organization of the NSDAP. As a result, Höcke must be responsible for the allegation of using indicators in front of the district court in Halle. This legal dispute will be negotiated in the coming week.
It is not the first time that Telekom has taken legal action against claims by AfD politicians. Last year, Alice Weidel's AfD district spokeswoman was already going on after spreading similar wrong information. Telekom asked Weidel to refrain from this claims, which apparently accepted it.
Höcke defended his choice of words and stated that he did not know during his speech that it was a SA slogan. He described the sentence as a "common saying" and justified his use. However, Telekom remains determined to act against the spread of false information and to defend its rights.
