Deutsche Telekom checks legal steps against the wrong claim by Björn Höcke
Deutsche Telekom has rejected a statement by the AfD politician Björn Höcke regarding an alleged earlier advertising slogan of the company and is considering legal steps. During a TV duel, Höcke claimed that Telekom used the sentence "Everything for Germany" as an advertising saying a few years ago, which was described as wrong by a Telekom spokesman.
The sentence mentioned is a forbidden solution of the storm department (SA), the paramilitary fighting organization of the NSDAP. Due to the use of this slogan in a speech, Höcke will have to answer for the allegation of using indicators in Halle next week.
Telekom had already taken the AfD Federal Proterer Alice Weidel last year, after she also claimed that the group had used the relevant sentence in the past as a logan slogan. Telekom had asked Weidel to refrain this claim in the future, whereupon it had promised to do so.
Höcke, who is a history teacher himself, justified his choice of words during the TV duel and claimed that during the speech he did not know that it was a SA slogan. He described the sentence as a "common saying". Meanwhile, Telekom is examining further steps in relation to the wrong claims of Höcke and Weidel.
