Deutsche Telekom counters Höcke's false claim

Deutsche Telekom clearly rejects the claim of the AfD politician Björn Höcke, according to which the company supposedly used the slogan "Everything for Germany" earlier as an advertising saying. A telecom spokesman said that this statement does not correspond to the truth. Telekom is currently examining legal steps against Höcke due to these misleading claims.

Höcke had claimed during a TV debate with Mario Voigt from the CDU that Telekom is said to have used the slogan in the past. However, this slogan is a forbidden solution to the storm department (SA), an NSDAP organization. Due to the use of this slogan in a speech, Höcke has to answer in court.

It is not the first time that Telekom is making false claims from AfD politicians. Last year, the company had already taken legal action against Alice Weidel after making similar wrong statements about the advertising saying. Telekom has made it clear that such misleading statements are not accepted.

Höcke himself defended his choice of words during the TV duel and claimed that he did not know that the saying was a SA slogan. He described the expression as a "common saying". The debate about the use of such historically stressed statements in politics remains.
