German travel trends: discover nature and experience sustainability!

Berlin, Deutschland - The Germans are increasingly drawn to nature in this holiday season! A current study by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts shows that 53 percent of the respondents rely on the proximity to nature when traveling domestically, and almost 60 percent are ready to travel away from the leaked paths. Unleased places are very popular, while 77 percent pay attention to sustainable offers. The Lake Constance and the Black Forest rank under the most popular destinations, while cities such as Berlin, Hamburg and Dresden are also the focus.

The survey, carried out by OnePoll, also showed that weekend trips are booming. Almost a third of the participants are planning short trips that do not require any longer than four hours. Generation Z in particular is looking for a break from everyday stress and wants to share its experiences on social media. 90 percent of those surveyed attach great importance to travel expenses, which ensures that many are planning their trips outside of the main vacation times. The trend towards known hotel brands remains unbroken, since almost half of the travelers prefer the comfort and safety of a hotel room.
