German solutions for cyber protection and IT security: Netfox and Novastor cooperate to protect the critical infrastructure
cyber protection and IT security: New partnership to protect the critical infrastructure
In the area of cyber security there is pioneering cooperation between the Berlin-Brandenburg IT system house Netfox and the Hamburg data protection expert Novastor in Germany. Together they aim to protect companies that belong to the critical infrastructure in Germany. They attach great importance to the fact that companies have full control over their security solutions and do not exist hidden access points for third parties.
The cooperation between Netfox and Novastor enables a German hardware and software solution on the market for backup and security software for the first time, which meets the requirements of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This is particularly important because the market dominance of US companies has so far been a problem.
Protection against cyber attacks and fulfillment of the NIS 2 directive
Netfox and Novastor already offer solutions to meet the requirements of the European Union's NIS 2 directive. With the entry into force of the directive in October 2024, the IT security obligations are expanded by companies. Around 40,000 companies are affected in Germany, including around 2,000 criticism companies. These now receive support to implement the new requirements that prescribe strict security measures and reporting obligations for security incidents.
With regard to cyber security, it is particularly advantageous that Netfox and Novastor are German companies. As a result, they are not subject to the same legal obligations as US companies and can offer a German hardware and software solution. In addition, they offer local support and service in German, which makes communication and problem solving easier.
growing damage caused by cyber attacks
The increasing number of cyber attacks worldwide is worrying. According to the Federal Ministry of Safety in Information Technology (BSI), damage of around 203 billion euros was incurred in Germany alone in the previous year due to cyber attacks. It is now clear that it is not the question of whether a company is being attacked, but only when it happens.
The effects of cyber attacks can be serious: production failures, loss of sales, compensation and even bankruptcies. In addition, poorly prepared management can be liable. The importance of effective cyber security solutions should therefore not be underestimated.
The NIS-2 directive from October 2024
From October 2024, the NIS 2 directive in Europe will be considered the law. This initially affects companies of 50 employees or with sales of 10 million euros. The aim of the guideline is to ensure a high level of common cyber security in the entire European Union.
companies that were classified as operators of essential services must take suitable security measures. In the event of a cyber attack, there is an obligation to report within 24 hours and an immediate reaction to the implementation of emergency plans is required.
Support for NIS-2 companies
The NIS-2 directive presents the companies concerned with large organizational and financial challenges. The uncertainty in terms of implementation is great. To help you implement the requirements, Netfox and Novastor have set up a hotline and offer workshops for managers and IT managers.
In the workshops, the participants receive practical tools and strategies for compliance with the regulations and for effective security measures. Due to Netfox's many years of expertise in the area of IT infrastructure and Novastor in the areas of data security and disaster recovery, comprehensive solutions to protect the critical infrastructure in Germany can be offered.
