The future of the SPD and the traffic light coalition: A look behind the scenes in the ARD summer interview with Lars Klingbeil

How the SPD tries to improve the mood

The SPD is fighting for its popularity among the population and better survey values. In response, the party Olaf Scholz nominated as its candidate for chancellor. However, the challenges remain, especially before the elections in three East German federal states in which the SPD had to accept a defeat in the European elections.

To improve this mood, Matthias Deiß, deputy studio manager and editor-in-chief television in the ARD main city studio, turned to the co-party chairman of the SPD, Lars Klingbeil in the ARD summer interview.

The ARD summer interview with Lars Klingbeil will be broadcast on Sunday, August 11th, at 6:00 p.m. in the first. From 3:00 p.m., interested parties can follow the interview on Tagesschau24, Tagesschau.de and in the ARD media library. The program is also subtitled in the ARD text on page 150.

The editorial team of the Tagesschau and the "Report from Berlin" also has the online format "Question yourself!" Started, in which the audience can ask questions to Lars Klingbeil. The questions can be submitted via Instagram, Facebook, X and YouTube as well as by email to question-selbst@tagesschau.de. The answers from Lars Klingbeil will be published live on the Youtube channel of the Tagesschau and now also on the ARD Twitch Canal on Sunday, August 11th, from 12:30 p.m.

In addition to the interview with Lars Klingbeil, further ARD summer interviews are planned in the "Report from Berlin". On August 18, 2024, Omid Nouripour (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) will be interviewed, followed by Markus Söder (CSU) on August 25, 2024.

The SPD does everything possible to improve the mood and convince citizens of their politics. The ARD summer interview with Lars Klingbeil therefore offers a good opportunity to get an insight into the party's plans and strategies.
